Canoe Escape

 

Canoe Escape runs Kayaks and Canoes on the Hillsborough River. Paddlers can explore Florida's best wildlife viewing river on both downstream trips and hourly rentals. The 15 mile section of the river we use runs through a 16,000 Wilderness Park run by Hillsborough County Parks. The Hillsborough River is also a State of Florida Paddling and Birdwatching trail. The downstream trips can be run in sections of 4.5, 9 or 15 miles and average from 2.5 to 6.5 hours on the water. Hourly rentals have a one hour minimum and paddlers return to the launch point with no transportation needed. The river itself is dark water and flows 1-3 miles an hour. It is flat water and averages 30-50 yards wide with a large portion of shade."
