We just returned from our trip to Englewood and stayed at McCarthy's Inns. Although I wouldn't call it a 5 star establishment we would stay there again. The price was right, accommodations adequate, and proximity to the beach can't be beat. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, the proprietor (Jim) was really nice and very helpful although difficult to get a hold of via email or phone. We stayed in The Cottage 5 and were disappointed that it was more of an efficiency than a 1 bedroom but it suited our needs just fine. Next time we would pick #4 or #3 instead. I also missed having a bathtub. Above all, the price was right, the location was a little crowded/cramped but very quiet. The private beach was heavenly. The sand was clean and gorgeous, there was rarely another soul in sight. We would come back for sure.
