I would and have recomended the Sheldon to anyone wanting to stay on the beach. The room we had was clean. We had a balcony which is over the broadwalk and beach. The staff was like family. They went out of their way to assist us. We felt very safe as someone was on duty at all times.

Overnighted here prior to a cruise out of Miami. Front desk staff was top notch. Hotel manager was always close by. Room size adequate and clean. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast buffet that was kept restocked. Clean, comfortable lobby. Close to a shopping maill. However, it is a bit of a hike in the Florida heat and humidity. Our shuttle to Miami was on time the next day. Transport to airport was without incident. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

We booked this hotel for a last minute trip to NYC. I agree completely with the review from John A. from Milpitas, CA. Our experience was very similar. The reception staff are a bit cool, though not surly, they just don't expend much energy on niceties. Room was small but very clean. The free breakfast is fine. There is plenty of fresh fruit, cereal, and baked goods, though the latter are very sweet. Nice to have internet in the lobby for quick searches. The subway is relatively close, about 10 minute walk through pleasant residential neighbourhood with lots of families out and about. We took several different routes, all of which were safe and interesting. The street on which the subway is located, Roosevelt Avenue, is one of the most fantastic streets I've ever seen. The diversity is amazing. You can find a restaurant, or several, run by people from every corner of the earth. In just a couple of days we ate at Korean, Greek, Ecuadorian, and Indian food that was delicious and inexpensive. We (a middle-aged man and woman) were out very late at night on Roosevelt and felt completely safe. It doesn't take long to get into Manhattan on the subway. But, if you stay at this hotel and want to use public transport, you should be someone who is comfortable with diversity and confident in your ability to get around independently.
