This town is named as City of Live Mermaids because people did mermaid show somewhere 50 plus years ago, to make the town famous. Weeki Wachee Springs Water Park celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1997. Mermaids in Weeki Wachee wear green or silver tailored costumes and take breathes of piped-in air to perform their attraction, including eating, drinking underwater and singing. This water park also turns its Disney films like "The little Mermaid" into mermaid shows. You can also take a photograph with mermaid. Other major attractions are exotic birds, Zoo and birds of prey.
